Mitsubishi Electric Expands SiC Power Module Portfolio
Society continues to demand smaller, more energy efficient power conversion systems. Silicon Carbide (SiC), with its superior material properties, is rapidly becoming a viable and technically superior alternative to traditional silicon devices. Mitsubishi Electric, a long established leader in silicon based IGBT power devices, began mass producing SiC modules in 2013. To support even higher efficiency, reduced size, and lighter industrial equipment, Mitsubishi Electric has expanded their portfolio to include SiC power modules (600/1200/3300V) across a wide range of applications — while continuing to innovate and improve silicon technologies.
